You can’t replace fire with air;
Oxidation would corrode our connection.
We are fire: burning, ferocious, smouldering.
We are flames: glowing, licking, ignited.
We are burning.
All that’s solid (can’t just) melt into air.
We need the fire; it sustains us.
Ignite the heat again,
Fan the flames.
There’s still a spark
between us.
Sit down next to the fire
with me.

I love the way the last sentence tumbles into the ordinary….it powerfully grounds it.
